HEIGHTS

​My brother considers me fearless. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I know why he is mistaken though.

I've always loved heights. Both literally and metaphorically speaking. I love the highest point of any place I find myself in. If I get a choice of which apartment I would like to be in, that's easy, the top floor. Hotel room preferences work the same way, I always request the highest floor possible. My brother has seen me jump onto the roof from my bedroom window. He knows that when we go hiking, I must go all the way to the top. He was sure to advise my fiancé to propose to me from a height. I got engaged on the top of the Reunion Tower, an excellent choice by the love of my life. Mountains are my friends. I have spent a significant era of my life living in a beautiful mountainous region of Pakistan. In college, I would always make my way to the top floor of the library, that is where I would be able to study.

Metaphorically speaking, I have always aspired to reach newer heights. I have never accepted any of my achievements as my own doing's reward. Usually, I credit my good luck and my wonderful support system for my successes. I dream high and far though. And I know that I am unstoppable when it comes to fulfilling those dreams. Which is why, I refuse to let any fear take over. If I want to see something from a better view, I climb without fear. If I need to find out something from someone I don't know, I speak to them without fear. And so on and so forth.

Do I have fear though? Of course, I am human after all. But I don't think I allow fear to drive me. Wait, let's reword. I don't allow fear to stop me. I have a curiosity in me that I wish to quench. I have dreams that I wish to achieve. And I have places that I wish to see. Specifically, every single place. It's an impossible feat, I am aware. But impossibility itself is a fear, and I won't let that stop me.
