Getting married to my husband was the best decision that I have ever made in my life! But the whole process, before, during, and after, took a lot of time away from my life.
I am embarrassed that I haven't updated my blog since 9 months ago when I first created it. There was a lot of wedding planning and adjustment after the wedding, and I had no time to get away from life's busy roads to give some time to myself. But, rest assured, I plan to be better about keeping up with my blog.

Anyways, this post is all my thoughts after marriage. I will make some more posts about the whole process soon (DIY invites, planning, all the good stuff, I promise). But today, I want to share everything I feel since getting married.

  1. Get ready for "how is the married life?" questions (from EVERYONE)
I kid you not, everywhere you go now, people will ask you how is life after marriage, how you like married life, etc. Have an answer prepared, because, for me at least, I had no idea how to answer the first few times. Now, I usually just say something along the lines of "I love having my best friend as my permanent roommate, life never has a dull moment anymore." My husband has also employed a similar strategy. Except his answer is "We can't ever agree on what temperature to keep the apartment and she always wins."
  2. I love waking up next to him
I wake up happy each morning. And I absolutely cannot wait to come home to see my husband each evening. It is a whole new kind of happiness to know that I always have Sumair to come home to, to know that there is someone who waits to see you every day, and someone who is always thinking of you.
  3. Your decisions are not just your decisions anymore
From travel plans, to making big purchases, to what we will be eating, all decisions are now team decisions. I can't just up and about book a flight to go explore when I want to. I now have a whole another person to think about. Yes, planning vacations is twice as hard now, but I am hoping that vacations will now be twice as fun.
  4. I didn't know love until I married Sumair
I never knew anyone was capable of loving someone as much as Sumair loves me. The way he makes sure to do everything possible to make sure all my dreams come true. The way he goes out of his way to make sure I am happy at all times. They way he ensures that no tear ever comes out of my eyes. I always thought that my anxiety and depression would come in the way of my relationships. But, Sumair finds a way to understand me even more than I understand myself. He believes that he can love me more than my depression can bring me down. And he lives by it every day. He loves me more when I am down and shows me exactly what it means to love someone. I really didn't know the meaning of unconditional love until I met Sumair.
  5. Living with a boy is an adjustment, to say the least
I didn't live with Sumair until getting married. And once we got married, it definitely opened up my eyes to how different of a species men are. There were just a lot of things that were different than what I was used to. And it took a lot of adjustment on both of our parts. But, nothing that we couldn't handle.

Being married is amazing so far. I am not sure why so many people in my generation dread the idea of it. Once you are with someone you love, marriage only grows that relationship.

I cannot tell you how much I identify with everything that you write. Especially the land love. the longing for the special place on Earth where you feel connected and one. The place that whispers in your dreams, and fills your waking mind with vivid landscapes.

Nice post. As per my opinion, To make feel special to your someone, give diamond ring on this occasion. Diamonds can make wonderful presents for a number of beautiful occasions.

Hi, I'm Raunaq. I am a minimalist. Things don't entice me, experiences do. Adventure is my obsession. Traveling on a budget is my goal. My bucket list is just every single country.

DIY is life. If I can think it, I can do it. I read. A lot. Don't judge. Sometimes, I like to write too. Maybe you shall see a book by me, one day.

I have some awesome people in my life. They love me and make me who I am.

This is a personal blog. Mostly my snark getting put on paper (screen?). Sometimes, there may be a little more feels involved, consider yourself lucky if you come across it.
